Community Reviews

I am very well pleased.

I am very well pleased. He fell once and they were right there for him. It's clean, and the staff is friendly. We are happy with them. We like the security of it.

Excellent Facility

reviewed on: 03/13/2015 by Anonymous

It was a hard decision for my grandparents to leave her their of 56 years, and move into a retirement facility. Though The Grand Victorian isn't "home", it is definitely the next best thing. We are very happy with the facility, staff, food, and care. Grandmother is more active than she has been in years. She is happy, and is always doing an activity or socializing. It's fun listening to her tell us about the local "gossip". Grandfather is in the moderate stages of Alzheimer's Disease, but is happy, and gaining back some weight. He appears to be content and fusses about needing to get bigger pants. Overall, once Grandmother decided she needed help, moving into The Grand Victorian, was a great decision.

A very good place

reviewed on: 04/09/2015 by Anonymous

It has a "happy" feeling with music, entertainment, and activities to engage the residents. The staff and facility were very good but my mother required a higher level of care than this facility could give, it is not a locked facility . I would recommend The Grand Victorian to anyone!

Positive experience until my parent began to fail

reviewed on: 08/17/2019 by Anonymous

My parent lived in this facility for 4 years. In general, the facility is clean and well-maintained. Staff are helpful and friendly. My parent did complain about a decline in the quality of the food when the company changed from Grand Victorian to Morningside. There are plenty of activities for residents to engage in, if desired. My reduction in rating is due to the end point of our experience. My parent began a sudden decline and the administration demanded immediate presence of myself (I lived 200 miles away) or a home health aide on a Friday at 3pm. When I asked for help and/or recommendations in locating someone, I was told to check the yellow pages. Most offices were closing or had no one to place at such short notice. I ended up having to move my parent the next day. As my parent was dying over the next few weeks, I was simultaneously trying to clear her apartment. The administration asked more than once when the apartment would be vacated (it was paid through the end of the month), because they had someone who wanted to move in right away. It felt like my family was now unimportant, except as revenue for the facility and that they couldn't get us out of there fast enough. My parent's death went unremarked with the exception of emails to come pick up mail.

My Mom Is More Uplifted

The staff are giving my mom the best experience. Not only is the care affordable but they care about the residents. The staff are nice, helpful, and friendly. The are doing a good job cleaning the community. She likes the taste of her food,it is really good. There are plenty of activities to join, she likes group meetings. I would absolutely recommend this place!
