Catlettsburg is a part of the Huntington-Ashland, WV-KY-OH, Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA). As of the 2010 census, the MSA had a population 287,000.Randall Peterman is the current mayor. Peterman, a city councilman who was appointed mayor in September 2011 to succeed the resigning Pauline S. Hunt, will serve until a special election can be called.
