reviewed on: 05/21/2015 by AmyMy mom has never been happier. She was at Emeritus at Newell creek and she was very unhappy. They didn't have enough staff and the food was always cold. She could never find anyone if she needed anything. The Waterford is exceptional there is plenty of staff and people available for her every need. It is so friendly and the food is excellent. The rooms are spacious and the views of the trees and the grounds are beautiful. I would recommend the Waterford to everyone. It was a God send to find this place. I just wished we had found it sooner.

reviewed on: 09/18/2013 by ClaudiaIt's hard for me to feel comfortable about my answer, when I did research of various places they all seemed to be on the same level, you don't knwo what questions to ask, you just see the facade. They have activities everyday, throughout the day, the quality of them I don't know and mom is one of those that isn't a joiner but they try to get her to participate. On the positive side, the staff is very good, pretty much anything you ask they're willing to do and they genuinely care about my mother. I'm sure with most places the 1:12 ratio is never enough but mom isn't one of those who needs a lot of care. The management, meaning the director of care services and the head nurse, both are very willing to listen to any issues that are presented and try to follow up and correct them. The issues that are there I'm sure are the same as anywhere else, timeliness of the laundry.. things like that. It really had the wow factor when we walked in, it's a gorgeous property and community. People looked like they were well cared for, the dining room was abuzz with conversation and I was hoping it would kind of rub off on mom, it was just those kinds of things, little extra wow factors.

reviewed on: 08/07/2019 by Debra BourdakosThe apartment that we selected was a 2 bedroom with 2 bath and full kitchen which my uncle loves. Many of the people there are wonderful. On the down side, he has pushed his button due to falls and illness and it took 30 minutes for anyone to respond (more than once).
I Am Happy For My Parents

There seems to have been a communication issue in the beginning because they did not have a table assigned for my parents and housekeeping took awhile. Overall I am happy.

It's a friendly, welcoming community, and they have a lot to provide for the residents. There are all sorts of activities, and the food is excellent! The staff is friendly and professional, and they do a good job looking out for the residents. However, I do think they feel a bit understaffed, response times to the call buttons can be a little slow, especially on weekends. They're also fairly expensive, however the price includes a lot of services that you'd be charged extra for elsewhere.
