Positive Respite Stay for mom
reviewed on: 09/25/2019 by Kathleen M. FleenorThis past summer, we were fortunate enough to meet the new Assisted Living Manager Bob Corrigan. I went to Cortland Place unannounced and looked around then asked to meet Director to inquire about respite stay for mom. I can't say enough about our positive experience at Cortland Place. The wellness team, the activities team and management went above and beyond to prepare for and keep my mom safe and entertained during her stay. While away, I would call during the day and in the evenings and staff always took my call and gave me an update on mom. The entertainment and activities personnel-Donna, Brenda, Pat were very kind to mom. Thank u to all the staff including nite staff for your kindnesses. My compliments to the Director Bob for his hard work and attention to detail.
Very nice looking place, but some negative health scores
reviewed on: 02/27/2015 by Loved OneWe visited this community when we were looking into care options for our loved one. I thought this place looked very nice, and everyone seemed very friendly. However, when I looked into things they had quite a few negative marks from the state health board. I would really be thorough and make sure they've cleared those issues up before deciding on this place.
Worth checking out, and a safe place for Mom and Dad.
reviewed on: 08/27/2021 by anonymousMost importantly, my parents are safe there. That's a huge priority for me. Unfortunately, the bad news is I feel as though Stillwater is understaffed, and it has affected the care that they're providing in a big way. The care, when given, is limited. The food service is slow, again due to understaffing. Our loved ones often wait 45 minutes to an hour for the food to be delivered, and the quality is poor. But their screenings are really good, and they distribute medication well. Management is very good as well. We had the pleasure of meeting one of the directors/managers, and he was wonderful, from touring, to move-in, to this day. He's a true gentleman and really good at what he does.
Horrific
reviewed on: 04/22/2021 by Kristen HUTTONall day for months I was with my father and his care was still poor. He was so depressed being there he starved himself to death. He had a stroke prior to not eating he was in a single room.without explaining to my father what was going on they collected his things and wheeled him down the hall to a shared room w him saying “this isn’t fair!”almost non verbal from stroke.stopped eating that day all of his dignity was gone.begged for him to get a hospice room they said no.This lady didn’t like my mom-she called the shots she took it out on my family.hospice ordered comfort meds-no nurse followed up.FINALY got his first dose and this beautiful man was out of pain.they missed next dose. “oh I thought he got it”He woke writhing in pain.He died in my arms in two days a curtain away from a stranger with a tv blaring. His entire life lead up to that moment and you didn’t even let us have that. You should be so ashamed of yourselves.Kristen HUTTON, daughter of our beloved father Thomas C.
