McKendree Village offers trips on our 3 vans to shopping, grocery, museums, concerts, restaurants and individual doctor appointments within a 20 mile radius. Our full time Fitness Coordinator offers exercise classes both on land and in our therapeutic salt water swimming pool. The full time Chaplain leads Church School and Worship Services on Sundays and a weekday service and Bible Study throughout the week. The full time Activity Coordinator plans both trips and on campus activities. -

Happy my loved one is happy!
reviewed on: 05/26/2017 by AnonymousThis place has been wonderful! The staff is very easy to talk with. Right from move-in, I feel comfortable saying they have gone above and beyond for my loved one. We chose this community because it really seemed to have the best bang for the buck and oh boy were we right! My loved one really enjoys the community and all the activities from minor league baseball outings to a variety of themed events with wonderful music nights!

They take the residents are able to leave the commnity for small trip. They had a good menu and a long time period for eating. I would highly recommend this community for the great value and the care that is offered for other families.
Less than expected for the money
reviewed on: 04/13/2019 by Expected BetterOur mother has been in long term care a year now. We visit 4-7 days a week. The food is good, she is happiest about that, although they struggle to stay on a schedule. There are some very good employees, but, there is a lot of turnover in "technician's" and this has led to a lot of negligence, especially during the weekends. They only order incontinence "diapers" in size large, for use on every occupant regardless of the severity of their incontinence, or, physical size. Since the family gets charged back for these as "supplies" the least they could do is order the right capacity and size. Too many times we have stopped by for a visit and mom either reeks, or, has a puddle under her, and "techs" are gathered around the nurses station gossiping. Bells and lights ringing constantly. This is supposed to be a step up from public funded long term care, but, it is run like a warehouse.

reviewed on: 11/14/2014 by AnonymousThe staff is very attentive to the needs and making sure things are resolved when any issues arise. Dad is 97 and his memory is not the best, but he is definitely very comfortable at McKendree Village.
