Men and women usually arrive at assisted living communities with age-related ailments and frailties that make care or supervision a necessity. They’re just like any of us, but often just older.Ways to Find Your Soulmate at Assisted Living

It’s a given, then, that these residents desire love like any of us. Some may get more than their share from families or a spouse at the community, but others are lacking it. They move into their residency single, looking for a companion or even a full fledged soulmate, perhaps.

Ways to Find Your Soulmate at Assisted Living

If you are a single resident looking to find a soulmate at assisted living, here are six tips that may help you find a match, or maybe even just a good friend.

1. Activities

You won’t meet your soulmate if you skip activities and sit in your apartment all day. Take part in any activity that you enjoy and you’re likely to meet some new residents, or learn more about the ones you’ve already met.

2. Meals

A great way to meet new people is to eat with a different group each day at meal time, assuming you’re at a community without assigned seating.

3. Participating in an Interest Club

Create an interest club at the senior community to find residents who you have something in common with. Perhaps one will wind up being the love of your life.

4. Setting Up a Singles Night

If your community doesn’t have a singles night, talk to the activity director to request one. Activity planners are usually very flexible.

5. Socials

Many senior communities hold dances in the American high school tradition, for example, prom. This could be the chance to meet the person you’ve been waiting for.

6. Volunteering

When you volunteer at your community, you often have the opportunity to meet many residents. Your good work will also increase your standing and make you more desirable (everyone wants a friend who’s kind).
