Safe, Clean, Trustworthy Place for Your Loved One
reviewed on: 03/11/2021 by L LI would highly recommend them for my loved one. The community does a great job with the residents. The communication with the staff is great and are responsive. All the residents are vaccinated now. They are starting to open up things more now.
Overall a good community but could use some improvements
reviewed on: 12/21/2020 by anonymousWith COVID they are a little short staffed, however the folks that work there are really good, and they do everything that they can. At first they were really strong with the activities, but at one point there were no activities. The rooms are a little dark and depressing.
5 star Assisted Living
reviewed on: 09/17/2020 by John DavidsonPlacing our mother into an assisted living resident was one of the most difficult decisions our father and his family has ever had to make and this was done in the middle of the pandemic. The staff at Carolina Reserve have been so helpful, and it has been comforting knowing that they think of our mom as part of their family, not just some elderly lady that lives in the residence. The staff are all true professionals and are supportive of the abilities that mom still has, encouraging her do as much as she is capable of, in order to keep her physical and mental skills active and in use while assuring that at all times she is safe and does not become overwhelmed. Mom walks daily and she enjoys interacting with the staff who have encouraged her to ask us for personal photos, artwork, special nightgowns and clothes that makes her feel in control of her day and her bedroom. Our mom is treated with respect and kindness and she refers to the Carolina Reserve at Hendersonville as her "New Home." There are no words to thank everyone at the residence. I know she is cared for and she is truly in her own home. While this make have been a difficult decision, it was the right decision in our situation and we are most grateful for what they have done and are doing for our family today and everyday. Thank you.
Pleased with him here
reviewed on: 10/09/2013 by Loved OneSo far, sorta good. I say him yesterday and he's a lot better than I've seen him in a long time after they straightened out his medications. There seems to be just enough to keep him busy, there is a piano, so long as he has a piano somewhere that he can get to once in a while. I went to a support group there yesterday and a woman who was coming in to visit someone plays the flute so she played with him and he had a good time with that. He seemed more talkative than he had been in a long time and I could understand him. I had visited it before, it seemed pretty nice to me and it was closer to home. It's spotless, very good, they had a dinner a few weeks ago for anybody who wanted to attend and it certainly wasn't as elegant, but it was very very nice. It gave us an opportunity to meet with the nurses and the staff
Would recommend for people with more care needs.
reviewed on: 07/09/2021 by anonymousI think you need to peek in at different times. When we visited, it looked like a beautiful place, with nobody in wheelchairs sitting around. But there are actually a lot of low functioning people there, not a lot of people you can have conversations with. So I don't think I would recommend for people who are higher functioning because they're not going to have the stimulation from other residents. But I think the staff tried to be very helpful during a stressful time and situation. The facility looked clean. The rooms are little outdated, especially the bathrooms, which are small. The sinks were pedestals, so there wasn't much counter space. But they did have stand-up showers with benches.
