Assisted Living Rules and Regulations in Florida

Consumers looking for information about assisted living communities in Florida can rely on state regulatory agencies to provide a high level of accessibility into assisted living records. Many consumers turn to the state to learn more information about the backgrounds of facilities but states provide varied access to records. Learn more about finding quality assisted living care in Florida.

Public Records and License Status

Florida has an exceptional level of access to assisted living records and licensing information. To find assisted living records in Florida visit Floridahealthfinder.gov and select either “assisted living facility” or “adult family care home”, depending on the information you are seeking. From there you will be able to click on the name of the facility to view more detailed information.

Violations and Resident Protection

In Florida, the state provides a list of updated and searchable licensed assisted living facilities online. In the same location they also provide information about violations, survey results, complaints and inspections. That information is also updated regularly and is searchable.

Additionally, Florida provides information about special care licensing, administrator contact information, capacity information and payment types. They do not, however, give the price of the facility on their site. Florida performs inspections every 24 months and does have the ability to fine facilities found to be non-compliant.
