Community Reviews

One of the Original Villa Members

reviewed on: 08/10/2015 by Renie

I moved to Osprey Village in 2004. I had known about the community since they broke ground. We had been in Florida off and on since the 1970s- living on the Plantation. When we were trying to make this decision, we knew that we needed golf options. I wanted Amelia Island. We looked around Ponte Vedra. But nothing compared to Osprey. It is such a small community that enables you to know everybody. When we came, my husband played golf. I honestly do everything, it is hard to remember. I like bridge and involved with a bridge club that dates back 30 years on the Plantation. I also enjoy the book club. I enjoy everything and have even served on the resident advisory committee. My advice for those looking for retirement communities is that if you find a community you like, go while you are still a couple. It is important to have the built in community. There is also a great community for those who are single. As a fun fact, I was one of the first people in the villas. I moved in that morning. I am still in my original villa.

Pleasant Experience 6 Months In

reviewed on: 02/11/2015 by Harry

We’ve had friends that have gone ahead and made the transition to retirement living. They moved to big institutional looking buildings although inside there was great dining and beautiful finishes. We simply did not want that. We also looked at places in Vero Beach and realized they were the same big building feeling. Our children pushed us to look at 3 communities in Florida. We decided to take our time. We made an appointment here and the lifestyle advisor and did a great job of showing us cottages. We went home and thought about it for a few weeks. They had already sold the cottage we were interested in. But as luck would have it, they were completely renovating a cottage of the same floor plan. We were able to pick out all of the finishes. Then we had to sell our house. We were told the house would sell slowly and it sold it in 8 days. We had spent 52 years there and then had to be out in 2 months. We started meeting people here. The toughest thing was giving up close friends of many years. The good news is that we have made wonderful couple friends who have the prospect of being very close friends. This place grows on you. It has been a pleasant experience. Through recommendations we have been able to find physicians, a bank, and more. I have joined the Amelia River Golf Club. And we are involved in bridge groups.

Holiday Cheer!

It's a week overdue, but we have wanted to compliment you and your team for the hospitality and graciousness you show to your residents and their families. Specifically I refer to the series of pre-Thanksgiving affairs you held on your new deck the Wednesday afternoon prior to Thanksgiving, but that is just one of many such events you hold to allow families to stay connected with their loved ones during this restrictive COVID period. Many assisted living facilities do not make this special effort, which uses your resources and is extra work for your staff. Thank you ... and please thank them for us.

I believe it is important to be covered for future care, and Osprey Village provides it all!

My husband and I moved to Osprey Village in the summer of 2014. Originally from Connecticut, we had been vacationing in Florida over the past 17 years. Our daughter in law, who lives nearby Osprey in Ponte Vedra, was the one who told us about this great retirement community. As soon as we visited, we fell in love. What attracted us the most to this community was the colorful cottages and the layout of the neighborhood. The young, energetic staff keep us involved in many social activities and it is great to not have to cook as much! We eat in the Dining Room at least 4 nights out of the week. I believe it is important to be covered for future care, and Osprey Village provides it all! I highly recommend this wonderful retirement community.

Piece of mind

We know that our Mom is valued and cared for at Osprey Assisted living. Covid protocols have been responsible and protective of staff and residents. Social programs directed by a highly skilled and creative staff continue to offer appropriately stimulating programming. Our family is so appreciative of these efforts.
