Mom lived here for 5 years

reviewed on: 02/01/2021 by Joseph D

The staff and management changed a few times but was all for the best. Management now doesn't seem to have time for BS or passing the buck. They have done an amazing job during this trying Covid times. It is hard to know mom has passed on but I am so grateful for the care she had here.

The price was decent. The location was good. The food was good for my loved one. This is a good place for assisted living and I would recommend if your loved one needs this type of care.

So glad we stayed

When we first moved my dad in last year it was a good facility. Since then they had 2 administrator changes which highly concerned us but from word of mouth in the community about the new executive director who came in around end of March/ early April, we decided to hold off moving dad to get a feel and so glad we did. It was some uproar with the staffing changes and thinning but once the dust settled, boy ol' boy has it been for the BEST !!! Staff is more focused and alert in the care and his needs. Their is a presence of pride in what they do now that we haven't even felt. Kellee and the staff are wonderful. The business manager is outstanding and is always helpful. Lisa has been adding new item for them to do and the new maintenance man is just unbelievably fast in fixing things for us. The food needs some work but the new Chef / Director is doing good changes so far. During the hurricane they were so prepared and planned out. They look at dad as their family and show him unbelievable respect and attention. So excited to see what the new year brings.

So glad we picked here !

The facility is one of the cleanest that we toured prior to moving mom in the past summer. The management team is very alert to her needs and have outstanding employees below them. Based on past experiences in other facilities, we could not be happier with the overall care and compassion that everyone shows her.

My grandmother has been here for 2.5 years. There’s a revolving door of staff members. My opinion is that they don’t pay staff enough to survive much less take pride in their work. My grandmother is blind but doesn’t “look” blind and has received horrendous treatment from some of the aids. One of them slapped her across the face because she wasn’t understanding the verbal directions she was being given after waking up in the middle of the night and needing assistance. My mother routinely does her laundry and cleans the place because staff doesn’t keep up with it or only do the bare minimum. Lots more I could say but won’t. For $4k a month it makes you realize that our medical system is super broken and businesses like the holding company that owns Cedar Creek are at fault.
