He's having a wonderful time.

reviewed on: 01/03/2014 by Happy family

He's having a wonderful time. he has not had any complaints he is absolutely deleriously happy there. They have accommodated his limited diet, and he was surpised. He is so enthralled. He could have a dog here. They didn't question his condition and seemed to know exactly what to do. They had a putting green and some amenities that were specifically great for him. They played it as well as I expected they would when he came to visit. It's such a horrific thing to have to do, to take your family away from their home and all they know, even when it's needed, but as soon as he got there he said that it was just like walking into a grand hotel. That immediately paved the way and they were so glad to have him and show him around. He was able to stay there for a month and get the feel and see if it was acceptable. He is one happy camper.

They are headed in the right direction but not quite where they need to be. They need to be more proactive versus reactive. Rooms should be ready for immediate occupancy, there should be no issues with the room after move in. The details should be taken care before move in. The common areas are beautiful.

When I first toured your facility I was amazed at the beautiful detailed layout and how organized it was. It wasn’t just a memory unit it felt like a place I could call home or somewhere I could belong , not trapped or locked up; the residents could even go outside if they wanted and still be safe :) ; I loved that . The staff all seemed very nice to me and I was just a visitor that know one new, no family members lived there , although it would be nice one day if I had to , I could love there. The activities were plenty to choose from and it was just a beautiful place one could call home :)

Our experience at Rose Garden

My experience with the administration was not good, because there was very poor communication. My loved one passed, and nobody called to say they were sorry about that, other than one of the ladies who worked closest with my loved one. When I was concerned about things and would call them, there was no answer. And they wouldn't call me back. They would talk to my sister, but not to me. I don't know if they were concerned that I was asking too many questions or wanting too many things. I would talk to them when I would come to visit and tell them they needed to communicate with me and give me updates. They would say "Oh, so and so was supposed to talk to you." So they were giving information to another person but not directly to me. When my loved one fell and hit her head and had a hematoma, they called my sister and not me. Another complaint I have is that the medication was supposed to be through one specific pharmacy. They told me if I wanted to use my own pharmacy, I had to pay $500 a month just to use a different pharmacy. So basically they were forcing us to use their pharmacy. On the more positive side, the people who worked closely with my loved one provided good care. When I would call her, she would often be dong activities, like painting, watching a movie, doing exercises. She had dementia, and I felt like they took good care of her there. When we would go outside, she would tell me she needed to get out of there and go home. She would take my hand to go home, but she would go right back in the door there - even in her confusion, that was where she felt safe and felt was her home. It was expensive, but when compared to other places, it was about the same.
