Community Reviews
Eureka!! Stop looking...this is the place.....
reviewed on: 11/08/2014 by MarionMoved my mother into Harbor Chase 1 month ago. She is thrilled by their care, & attentiveness as well as enjoying the other wonderful residents who live there. No place can ever be perfect but the managers and entire staff make every effort to accommodate my Mom to help her settle in. She had been living in an independent ALF in Naples but due to progressing Altzheimers and physical de-conditioning was unsafe to live alone and felt lonely. She now feels secure, receives her medications, reminded when to eat and enjoys the multiple social activities they offer. They provide medical services to choose from, PT/OT, plus much more. The facility is clean, bright and attractive. The outside grounds are breathtaking. My Mom says she feels like she is on vacation! The food is age appropriate and tasty, they have an ice cream parlor, in home theatre, beauty salon, as well as outside entertainment. The atmosphere feels warm and you will find the staff positively interacting with the residents. And on top of everything else....my Mom has her dog with her, who is also enjoying her new home!
Very Friendly Staff
reviewed on: 09/09/2015 by AnonymousI think overall, everybody that works here is very, very friendly. The know all know you by name. I was very disappointed in the food and the dining room though. The food is improving, but people come in to this beautiful dining room, and there are just wheelchairs everywhere and it makes it hard to move around. I also expected a little more activities.
The Best Memory Care in Palm Harbor
reviewed on: 11/06/2018 by Karen Raisch-SiegelWe are so blessed to have found this facility for our mom. She was not thriving in another and now she is enjoying life. Linda, Kaitlyn and the team in memory care are outstanding!! When they say they have activities they truly do!!! Can’t put a price tag on the care they provide. Thank you!!!
Very Poor Communication and Follow Through at this Community
reviewed on: 07/08/2021 by SallyI would tell others that it is a gorgeous community with lots of activities. The staff is friendly. The communication between the physicians, nurses, and physical therapy is extremely poor. Also, the follow through is extremely poor. I would speak to the administrators about my concerns and it would improve for a day or so, and then it would go back to the way it was prior. If you have a person who is able to care for themselves this would be a good place for them. If you have an individual that needs additional care, this community won't be as apt. The community doesn't have a care plan for the aides to review for each resident.
Experience with memory care and assisted living
reviewed on: 11/14/2018 by kikicThe staff work very hard to care for residents, stay polite, and attend to special needs. My mom was VERY difficult in memory care with colostomy issues also and they stayed on top of things pretty good. We did have to hire an aid during the day for a while when things were very bad. I think they need more RN's and LPN's that can assist with dressing changes and meds more timely. Weekends were often sparsely covered so we, family, tried to be around more to assist. Activities were often sparse on weekends too but parents also could not participate much in what they had. I would say compared to another facility we tried and others I have worked with or at, HarborChase does a pretty good job. We stayed non-confrontational when issues did arise and the supervisors did their best to find resolution. My mom passed recently with hospice and the staff has been very supportive to my dad who is still there. It was great to have him close enough in assisted living to visit mom in memory care easily.
