Mom's success story
reviewed on: 11/06/2020 by Patti CrowderI would like to tell a great success story, regarding my 93 year old Mom's progress since breaking her leg in Jan this year. Going from independent living to the hospital for surgery, to a rehab facility and ending up at Ivy Hall Assisted Living the end of Feb. When she first got to Ivy Hall, she was on a catheter and could not put weight on the leg she broke until March. She required 3 aides to assist her during that time. Once she was able to put weight on that leg, she started going to Alyson, the PT person at Ivy Hall. Alyson got Mom to eventually walk again. As she continued getting stronger, she required less assistance from the aides and is now down to one aide a day, which helps her with her shower and getting her bra and top on. Mom has difficulty with this due to both shoulders being dislocated. Her goal, all this time at Ivy Hall, was to get stronger and walk well so she can move back to independent living. I have to say I'm nervous about this move, since she's being so well taken care of at Ivy Hall. But my Mom is a very stubborn woman and when she gets her mind set on something, there's no changing it. So I would like to thank all the staff at Ivy Hall for the wonderful job they have done while Mom was a resident there. I would recommend this facility for anyone out there having to make a decision regarding their loved ones.

reviewed on: 10/18/2016 by Joyce HosseiniMy parents have been living at Ivy Hall a couple of months now. It took a while to adjust for my parents as well as for the family. My parents are loving their new home and the staff is fabulous. It's like being apart of a new big family. I can not say enough good things. When I've had an issue of any sort, one conversation or email is all it took to be quickly resolved. The only slightly negative thing I would say is the chef needs to step up and make the food as great as the rest of the facility. The nursing staff, the helpers and the office staff are absolutely wonderful and very caring. The activity directors are wonderful and you can tell they love their job and really care for the residents. If you want a place that will truly care for your loved ones and has the staff to back it up Ivy Hall may also be the place for you.

reviewed on: 11/12/2018 by AnonymousThis is a wonderful Assisted Living facility. We moved my mother here from Independent Living with additional scheduled care services. She had stopped participating in activities or going to the dining room. In hindsight, we see that she suffered from depression in addition to physical limitations. Since moving to Ivy Hall she has shown amazing improvement. She goes to the dining room and some activities. Her personality is back to her friendly, "people person" self. I took her picture after had her hair cut and sent it to my out of state children. My son's comment was, "she looks ten years younger than she did 6 months ago". That's how noticeable the improvement is. All because of her care and the family environment at Ivy Hall. The entire staff is personally involved with and supportive of the residents.

Visited property virtually (online) & in person on front porch with Dyan Burnstein (Sales & Marketing Director). Dyan was so helpful, answered all my questions & set up meetings with executive director, nursing, activities, dining & facilities directors. Because the community is following CDC quarantine procedures, all meetings required wearing masks & social distancing. All team members were kind, caring & answered my many questions about considering the community for my mother in law. We were never able to go into the community prior to our decision to move our loved one in. There were many email exchanges with photos of apartment options so that I could best make a choice of apartment. My mom in law has been at Ivy Hall since mid-Sep. She enjoys staff, care team, meals, activities, services & her apartment. I am so pleased the team keeps us updated on my loved one’s progress & calls for medical care when needed. Thank you Ivy Hall team.... very much appreciate your commitment to quality & individualized geriatric care. It will be EVEN BETTER when Covid quarantine is over & community residents can take trips outside community.
