Community Reviews

my review of Jackson Oaks Senior Living

Overall the community is a good place for anyone's loved one. They keep the community clean, and the staff is friendly and helpful. I would recommend this community based on my experience.

Very good experience with them, staff is very friendly, glad we found this place for our loved one

The main common area of the community would be a 4 out of 5 stars for cleanliness, but the individual house keeping for our loved ones apartment would be about a 3 out of 5 for cleanliness. However the staff members are all very good, we have yet to meet one that is not friendly towards us. They do a really good job with the activities, they always have plenty going on. The issues is, is that they are all repetitive so it sometimes is hard to keep the residents wanting to go back and keeping them engaged. For us, the value for cost is fairly reasonable.

They have been really, really good.

They have been really, really good. They are very clean. The staff is very friendly, they have been wonderful. They have been quick to respond to any needs or concerns, there have only been a few things. There are good activities, and he is starting to get involved. The food is pretty good, but he likes a lot of vegetables, they do a good job accommodating him if there is something he doesn't like. We are very satisfied.

The Change Has Been Good

The care has got a lot better since I let the staff care for my husband. I had to give him some time to transition better. It makes me happy to see them shower and shave him. I do communicate with the staff daily and they give me their report. My husband has gained weight from the meals that he enjoys to eat. He likes green and chicken. The community is clean but I have asked them to air out his room due to the odor that lingers. Everybody is nice and they understand what I want to see for my husband. He is comfortable with all the staff now and they cooperate well.

Superb, professional, and genuinely kind care

There is no way I can say enough nice things about the folks at Bentley. The facility is lovely, but it is the staff that make Bentley the unique place it is. They are professional, experienced, and (best of all) genuinely kind. My 92-year-old mother lived ther during the last year of her life (she moved from a very new, very expensive, and pretty atrocious facility just outside of Athens where she most decidedly was not thriving), and the care she received in Bentley's Memory Care wing was absolutely first-rate. This summer she went into hospice and passed away at Bentley, and then too the whole staff and administration made a wrenching time far less difficult than it would have been had it not been for the staff's and administration's professionalism as well as their kindness and care. (Executive director Cindy Archer and Memory Care wing nurse Cathy, in particular, went *far* above and beyond what their jobs required; their compassion and generosity of spirit was truly humbling and overwhelming.) Suffice it to say that I recommend Bentley, with enthusiasm and deep gratitude, to anyone who loves their parents and wants them to receive exceptional care.
