reviewed on: 08/22/2015 by AnonymousWell my loved one says that the food there is very good and he also likes staying there. He likes all the staff and they take really good care of him. I would recommend Bickford of Overland Park to anyone.
30 days and out
reviewed on: 11/15/2018 by Joan RiscoeMy aunt went to Bickford for a 30 day respite stay. She had been in skilled nursing for 12 weeks following a car crash and needed to get some strength back. We went in thinking she would be there 6 months or so, but she did not want to stay. She did rehab there and was able to move to independent living. She was promised a lot but was very disappointed and felt lied to. I believe they were not equipped to handle the care required for her injuries. For instance she was not supposed to get up without assistance and yet the general staff decided she could, even though the rehabilitation staff said no. We were there constantly checking up on her and did not feel comfortable letting her be alone. We also had medication issues that caused a lot of stress on the family. If your loved one can assist themselves it might be fine, but I do not recommend this facility if they need extra care.

reviewed on: 01/18/2016 by AnonymousMy mother is extremely happy there. There's not enough staff members to work with the residents they have there. Sometimes she does not get a shower and right not now she's not able to care for herself. The need more staff there, their understaffed.
A good tour!

Adequate
reviewed on: 09/09/2013 by Ella from PennsylvaniaThat was okay. We moved mom there simply to rehab from a broken leg. The care was adequate. My mom was the best memory wise and relationship wise (compared to the other residents) and you don't want that. The meals would be one hour before service. I don't know why, maybe they were lazy or something but they would get all the residents in and then it would be another hour before they ate. That was a conintuing problem. Mom recovered at Bickford from her broken leg.
