Community Reviews
Nice place, overall
reviewed on: 04/06/2015 by AnonymousWe've had a good experience with Atria overall! The facility itself is well kept and clean, and the location is beautiful. For the most part the staff have been friendly and helpful, and I think they take good care of the people who live here.
Overall It's very, very nice. The staff is excellent, and she's getting along well with the other residents.
reviewed on: 07/27/2021 by DBThe setting is very very nice, right on the river. My loved one has a lovely studio room overlooking the river. Luckily she's on the same floor as the dining room and activities, but I think she would have a problem if she were on the other floors and would have to take the elevator. The activities room looks nice, and I know she's supposed to go on a boat ride this summer, which sounds like a nice idea. The food is not served as hot as she would like it to be. It's also an older building, so it's smaller and a little more tired looking. But she says the care she receives is pretty good. And so far we're happy with the place.
A Caring Place

Strong sense of community
reviewed on: 09/30/2020 by Maureen GWe chose Atria Manresa because the prices skyrocketed at her old facility. The grounds were gorgeous at Atria and it is surrounded by the Sevren river and was less expensive. The room sizes are adequate, they do have options on room sizes as well based on what you need. COVID caused a lot of problems with the care due to being short staffed. There are some wonderful staff members here that cared very well for her, but we did have some issues with the night shift. Overall, I would definitely recommend, there is a strong sense of community here, everybody is super warm and friendly. My mother made a lot of friends here.
Lack of care coordination
reviewed on: 02/16/2015 by AnonymousMy elderly mother has been at Atria Manresa now since September. While the setting is beautiful, I've been frustrated by the apparent lack of coordination among caregivers. I've provided information to the caregiver on duty about my mom's needs and have found that it is not relayed to the caregiver on the next shift. My mother had chest cold symptoms for a week, worrisome for a 90 year old. During this time, I was not contacted, and my mother continued to take her meals in the dinning room with other residents. On one of my visits, I happened to speak with one very dedicated caregiver, who told me she was concerned about my mother because she wasn't improving. She seemed to suggest that he had had some difficulty in getting her concerns across to other staff. I should also say that we had trouble getting a doctor to see her in a timely way because of my delay in locating a local doctor following her move. Ultimately, Atria Manresa sent her to the emergency room, where she was diagnosed with pneumonia and very low blood oxygen. She was released to rehab after 4 days and spent a month in rehab receiving excellent care. During the period prior to her hospitalization, I noticed increased confusion and asked her to be assessed, but the decision was that she didn't need increased care. When I asked how she was assessed, the nurse who had done the "assessment" told me she asked caregivers if they had gone into her room to help her during the month. Since they had not, she had decided that she didn't have any additional needs. x
