Edgewood was a wonderful place for Mom
reviewed on: 06/12/2019 by Nancy CMy experience with Edgewood is that it is clean, comfortable, and the staff is very caring. Every person we came in contact with, housekeepers, kitchen staff, aids, nurses, activity coordinators, administrators, etc. were helpful, kind, and considerate. I feel as though they genuinely care about the residents and families. It didn't take long for us to realize that Edgewood was not only the best place for Mom, but the best place for us as well. Dad would visit Mom every day, and the staff made sure he was comfortable and included him in her care. The staff communicated with us frequently, answered our questions, listened to our concerns, and honored our requests. It felt as though they treated my mom the same way they would treat their own mom or grandmother. Unfortunately Mom was only there for a short time before she passed away, but she was well cared for while she was at Edgewood, and that gives me great comfort.
Used to be great, just average or below now
reviewed on: 12/28/2019 by Disappointed DaughterMy mom was In the Memory care unit there for 2 1/2 years and we absolutely loved it...........at first! But over the course of time they have lost some very valuable people that actually MADE the place outstanding. While the replacements have been just "ok" (with the exception of Bambi, she is at the very top of the list of people who should NOT be working in her position) it has not maintained it's "exceptional" standard. It was so hard to watch this place slide downhill so fast when, to us, it was top notch. I hope Edgewood can get some quality people back on staff and make that place "great again!" I know I am not alone in my assessment of Edgwood of Blaine. I have talked to many others who have felt the same way, but our choice was to either move our mom, which is very hard on her, or just be sure we were there often to keep an eye on her. I feel bad writing this, but I wouldn't be honest if I said anything different, For us, the location made it so we could be there often and make sure mom was ok.
Edgewood Suits My Mom
reviewed on: 06/30/2015 by Minnesota DaughterMy mom has been at Edgewood for 2 weeks. She appears to be adjusting well after moving here from California and giving up her home of 54 years. Working with Edgewood's executive director and clinical services director has been helpful and insightful. They have always answered all questions in a timely manner and were able to direct me to the services I possibly would need. They were understanding and compassionate with my mom's situation of many moving parts to put into place in order to get her here and settled. There have been a couple of care services that have needed to be worked out but my requests as my mother's attorney in fact have been heard and addressed. The best thing about mom's move is that she feels that the staff truly care about her and have made consistent efforts to get to know her. She sees them as "very friendly and nice". She also appreciates the many amenities available in a smaller community all on one floor. The food is very good with a lot of variety. The hallways are spacious and well lit. The community rooms are pleasant and adaptable for multiple uses. Her most favorite part of the Edgewood Community is that she can eat anytime from 7am - 7pm just like at home.
Excellence at it's best.
