A little disappointing with some things
reviewed on: 12/05/2017 by AnonymousAfter my loved one moved here we have had some glitches. This location is probably a good place and my loved one is not exactly adjusting well. I would have to say that I am slightly disappointed in the communication. We would communicate with them and it seems it’s difficult to get any sort of feedback from them. We were not told certain information before signing my loved one to the property. We have found out only after that the community has a geriatric doctor that comes in once a month to look at the residents. I don’t know if that’s normal information that they should give out. There was also an instance where we were supposed to meet with a nurse but he/she was busy with someone else at the time. It’s possible that they have the information and we didn’t get it, but it is still rather disappointing to me. We should not be pulling for details and they should be more proactive. They’re supposedly professionals and we are not. It ensures success if you were to be more personable with your clients and more communicative. When we’re there and we talk to people it seems like they’re caring and they do a good job with people, but what happens when we leave? There’s so much that they can do to make their people feel more welcomes and at home. There are things that I would rate highly on and other things not so much so.
Edgewood
reviewed on: 10/19/2017 by AnonymousItems of clothing and personal items have gone missing but they don't seem interested in finding out what happened to these things. If I am concerned about this, why don't they do something about it? They have PLENTY of time to investigate and if it is an employee, fire them for theft! It must be hard to find workers in this field because i'm told this is a problem everywhere. It seems like they are congressmen, let them steal and don't do anything about it and don't get rid of them. Can you tell this bothers me?
Mom is so happy!
reviewed on: 01/22/2020 by AnonymousEdgewood Sartell is amazing! The staff are so friendly and caring, and it feels like home the second you walk through the doors. The care is personalized to my mother, and my mom loves it here. I would recommend this assisted living and memory care to everyone.
Bumpy start, but they are making extra effort. And that makes me more comfortable to be able to trust them.
reviewed on: 08/19/2021 by CLMake sure when you're checking it out that they will follow through with what they tell you. I made it clear that our family member is a critical diabetic. They said they could handle that, no problem whatsoever. But after moving in, we found out they don't do sliding scales for insulin, and they don't cook any special meals for diabetics. I was told that they could change his Dexcom meter, and they couldn't. The RN and I did not get along, and he did not follow through with things, to the extent that I had to take our family member to the doctor and learn how to do those things myself. But now that RN has left, and the new LPN and I have clicked. She can do the things the previous RN wasn't doing. So I trust her. Our family member loves the food, mostly because of the variety. When they serve pasta often (which he absolutely will not eat), there's a second choice available. And more recently they've started charting what he eats, realizing there are some things he's missing out on, and are starting to push to get more diabetic-friendly foods, for him as well as other residents.
I would recommend this community

She has a beautiful apartment, it is always bight and sunny and she has a bird feeder. We do think they have some activities, but for the longest time there was none. They have a nursing staff there where our loved one gets therapy and she tells us all the time how much she enjoys being there.
