Community Reviews

Residents have patient rights and the right for someone to be an advocate for them

reviewed on: 08/17/2020 by Kerb

I have a family member in this facility and I have followed the chain of command to get the appropriate nursing care for her. Not allowed to come out of their rooms for 9 days, somehow she got COVID19. Placed on the COVID19 Hall she went four days without a bath or getting to brush her teeth. I went on August 1st 2020 and made the director of nursing aware of this with other issues my family had called about, but she would not return any calls. The Director of Nursing stated if my family or myself had a concern to come to the facility and she would address it. Once my sister who does not walk when back to her room from recovering from COVID19 she was placed in a broken bed, with no side rails. I returned to the facility to speak to the Director again and having many calls from my sister in this facility begging for help. Staff placing her food tray across the room and leaving out. Staff saying when stating she wanted to get out of bed it's not your day to get up. The Director refused to come out to address these issues and told me to leave. Then again I asked to meet and she called the police. So if you have a family member in a long term care. Make sure you follow their care especially in the facility because the PATIENT HAS RIGHTS!
