Community Reviews
Could use a few improvements
reviewed on: 06/11/2019 by AnonymousI agree with the review above. The meals are not good, especially dinners. Compared with other Retirement homes, Davenhill needs to upgrade their menus. Cost quite expensive for the food being served? Staff very friendly. Location of building is great. Cleaning staff not great at all. Apartment quite dirty. Staff that clean spend more time on their phones and gabbing to tenants than cleaning! Most staff at front desk very friendly especially the gentlemen.
Central location on TTC line and caring staff
reviewed on: 02/12/2018 by LinMy very senior folks, here a month, are slowly acclimatizing to retirement home living. DRoom/cleaning/front door staff and mgmt are very helpful, friendly, take time to chat with residents. Wonderful visiting CCAC/LIHN staff! Suite had been completely reno'd (attractive, fresh and clean, great views). Dining room is lovely, food is tasty, lots of choices. Weekly music night, singalongs, old movies, tea socials are appreciated, although my folks would prefer a better brand of afternoon coffee (but it is free, I tell them, lots of places to walk to.) New Cable TV provider has hiccups. Davenhill needs a welcoming committee for newbies to meet other residents, join activities - but these are small things. In a nutshell: a wonderful place for seniors. The amazingly informative Brent answers ALL questions on tours and doesn't "sell" you! Note this is a non-profit institution, the Davenhill warm caring philosophy is quickly evident even in one month. And that is the most important thing!

A few improvements needed
reviewed on: 03/07/2019 by AnonymousVery clean facility. Recent renovations very nicely done. Staff seems very caring and friendly. My only suggestion would be changing the food. It is over priced for dinners and the food is not very good. Unfortunate as that was one reason I put my father at Davenhill. Not worth the cost. Very bland, i.e. perogies for dinner? Also, nice to see additional activities especially on weekends. Not much happening on Saturday and Sunday except for very old movies and church. Otherwise, pleased with Davenhill overall. It is very close to Rosedale subway - a subway station that still doesn't have an escalator for seniors to use!
SOLD - EVICTED
reviewed on: 07/28/2019 by AnonymousThe Davenhill has been sold and all 150 seniors are being evicted!
