Community Reviews

Love my new life!

reviewed on: 03/25/2021 by Lorraine R

I was a little apprehensive about moving from Pennsylvania to Myrtle Beach until my children introduced me to Brightwater Retirement Community. Once I saw the beautiful setting and surroundings, I was anxious to see the villa. I could not have wished for more. The villa has everything I want or need and is so conducive to how I want to live. A light and airy atmosphere with plenty of windows, lovely living room, nice workable kitchen with all new appliances, great laundry room with plenty of storage. A wonderful bedroom with a walk-in closet and a good size bathroom with a tile shower.

I Love my Brightwater Life

reviewed on: 06/26/2020 by Dell at Brightwater

I have lived at Brightwater for 3 years. I LOVE Brightwater because of variety of activities that the Social Director schedules to keep us busy. During the pandemic crafts, painting projects, puzzles, short stories, games were delivered to our door. Cruise week brought specialty drinks & snacks to everyone. Staff helped me order groceries online because I don’t have a computer and they was delivered to me. Exercise programs continued with limited members to observe social distancing. I am a social person and love being around people, this was a challenging time for everyone. The dining staff delivered meals to each villa or cottage for 9 weeks and I was so happy to see them every day! Brightwater made us feel safe & secure.

Fantastic place!!

They are staffed for nursing care, and memory care, rehab, and assisted living, and they are beautiful!! It's slightly more expensive than where we were, but they include things that we have to purchase ourselves now. We think they are well worth it. They are very friendly, they have a pool for physical therapy and rehab and things. The marketing director, Charlene Adelstone is wonderful. They have a four staff members to 24 patient ratio.

Luxury Cruise Ship on Land

reviewed on: 02/04/2015 by Tim Gertsmeyer

My wife and I moved to Brightwater October 1, 2014 and it is more than we had hoped it would be. There are many amenities, a very friendly and helpful staff and happy content residents. The Social Calendar and Wellness Center is full of activities everyday in which you can participate. I describe Brightwater as a “Luxury Cruise Ship on land.” We like to travel and not owning a home gives us the freedom that we need without the home owning responsibility. Our children live in NJ and Australia and they don’t have to worry about us and we won’t burden them with our care. Our lawyer daughter-in-law in AU thanked us for taking charge of our lives so they don’t have to worry about us. We love the lifestyle that Brightwater affords us to have! Their slogan says it all - Live Long - Live Well - Live!
