reviewed on: 08/23/2016 by AnonymousThe staff were very friendly and helpful. The community was so clean you could eat off of the floor. The main chef could not cook at all and had a poor attitude. The other two chefs studied at Cordon Bleu and were great. They were in transition for an activities director at the time. The community lacked activities and entertainment. They did offer transportation outside of the community. I felt it was too expensive for the services I received.

I was talking to my sister she says the only thing she is upset with is that we are paying extra for extra care, like make sure there are toiletries items stocked. My sister likes the staff and they have all been friendly. Mom loves the staff. At a New Years Eve Event, she told me she loves it there. She has made some friends. The staff tell me when its time to eat she is ready to go.

When my dad was diagnosed with a terminal illness and my parents were living over 300 miles away, I knew I had to find a facility that could take care of my dad at the end of his life and continue to take care of my mom with her dementia after he was gone. Silver Creek works well with hospice organizations and they assured me my mother would have a "forever" home there after he was gone. Almost four years later, she is still there. The staff genuinely care about their residents. They are quick to respond to my concerns and they put up with my mother's quirks and temper. They really love her! It is a clean, inviting place with spacious apartments and great food. The activities director tries hard to have activities for everyone and they have great parties and family nights! The nurse is experienced and very capable. She has common sense and compassion. The executive director and marketing director are both jewels and the place wouldn't be what it is without them. I never worry about going out of town because I know my mom is safe and well taken care of.

They used some kind of air freshener, that I had a reaction to, it made it difficult to breathe. The lady that toured us was great, she even offered us the benefit of working with a veteran that would help coordinate VA benefits. We thought that was really nice, and we liked it, but it was just too far for me to get to on a regular basis.
