reviewed on: 11/01/2013 by A Place For Mom CustomerThey were cooking lunch when we arrived for our tour. The aroma was fantastic and a wonderful way to be greeted. The public rooms are decorated with warmth and charm. The individual rooms are called apartments to be furnished with the residents belongings to keep the comfort factor. Janelle was professional in an easy going manner. She answered all of our questions with ease. Our family member was so impressed, she felt she could move in that day.

Janelle is very knowledgeable of the needs of seniors and the the services to assist in them. She works hard to keep the Manor feeling like a home. There are comfortable recliners, lift chairs, sofas, and straight back chairs in different sitting rooms for the residents to watch the birds and wildlife out the windows or to gather with guests. The main dining room looks like a family kitchen, and serves food like one, too. ( When visiting before lunch or supper, the smells from the kitchen are wonderful!) The residents are allowed to decorate their rooms any way they would like; and the rooms are more like studio apartments, with room for up to a queen size bed, a dresser, a recliner, TV, and a desk. They even have a small refrigerator in each room. The bathrooms have large walk-in showers with plenty of room for getting walkers and wheelchairs turned around by the stool and sink. The CNA staff is great. They are caring, genuine and very capable. We have found them to be very easy to talk to about our relative's health and idiosyncrasies, knowing they will take wonderful care of her. Having such a great place like Marvin's Manor close to family and in the capable hands of a fantastic staff has made the transition for our relative a much needed blessing.
