Tons of entertainment and a full sized kitchen!
reviewed on: 10/27/2017 by AnonymousMy brother chose Wellhaven because the location was great and it had availability right when he needed it, after moving back here from California. It seems really friendly there and it feels like home. The apartments are nice, the common area is comfortable and the eating area is large enough. They have tables for 4 even. The staff is easy to communicate with and they answer any questions my brother has. My sister goes every week to have lunch with him at the facility and she says it’s really good. The place itself is very clean. Housekeeping comes in about once a week and cleans his apartment and the rest of the time it’s up to him to keep it clean. As far as laundry, he’s responsible for that. They have a lot going on for activities like bridge, bingo, and euchre. We even saw an Eagle’s concert once; they have a lot of different types of entertainers that come in, including a local famous artist. The other residents are very friendly and he’s getting along with everyone great. One of our aunts and people he’s gone to school with are there too, so he’s surrounded by friends and even family. The facility provides 1 meal a day, lunch, and I like that if you don’t show up to lunch, they come check up on you. He has a full sized kitchen and a 2 bedroom apartment. I think for what he’s paying, he’s getting a good value. I would definitely recommend it here.

It's a warm, caring environment where the staff puts residents first, providing support without being intrusive or pushy. They try to help seniors maintain as much independence as possible. The atmosphere among the residents is quite social. Mom arrived there from out-of-state, without knowing anyone but us in the area, but quickly made several good friends among the other residents and staff. When it grew apparent that the end was coming, they worked miracles to keep her in her apartment with her beloved cat. I can't recommend Wellhaven highly enough.
