Community Reviews
It was smaller with shared rooms and shared bathrooms.
reviewed on: 04/16/2014 by Family MemberWe weren't really impressed with this. It was smaller with shared rooms and shared bathrooms. That was a deal breaker for us. It also felt more like a house.
MyMi
reviewed on: 12/07/2018 by Kristi NationThis is not fancy and I’d love to say my mom was in a swanky place. However, the staff at Golden Living adore their residents and they treat my mother like a queen. My mom resisted needing care and had been there for 8 years. I go see her at least once a month and so does my brother and her grandkids. I know most of the residents by name and I know the staff. They know me as well. My mom basically quit eating 6 months ago and the only thing she likes are fast food milk shakes. The staff gets her special food everyday as she likes. I do put a small stash of cash w the front office and they let me know when my funds run out. I love Golden Living. The residents are mostly on SSI but the staff takes care of each resident. They have special dinners, games, events and the residents love them. The care providers atevare amazing. Never complain. I tell you, I can’t change elder diapers and they do it with joy and no complaint. I’m reading some of these reviews and they are harsh. My mother’s name is Delores and I know first hand the kindness this place gives our mom. Don’t dismiss it. It’s a diamond in the rough. Call Sonata Hospice and ask them about the facility.
Horrible care, not contact to family member about emergency room visits and fall which resulted in a broken hip with no medical care provided.
reviewed on: 06/16/2020 by Extremely concerned family memberIf you are thinking about placing your loved one here, think again. I had my loved one there for 8 days and they were in the emergency room twice within 48 hours of admission and I was never contacted. I went to pick them up and move them to a board and care and had to call 911 instead since he had a broken hip!! He was able to walk when he was admitted. I was not ever told he fell. The bruise on his shoulder and the broken hip tell a different story!

reviewed on: 07/22/2013 by A Place For Mom CustomerThe administrator seemed great. She was caring and enthusiastic. They seem to really do their best to avoid hidden costs and make sure it is workable for the patients. But the facility is poorly located directly behind a strip of fast food restaurants. It is small and smells bad. There were several residents just sitting in wheel chairs in the hallway doing and saying nothing. They were just warehoused. I would never put my mother here.
Grossly represented and families beware
reviewed on: 09/08/2021 by anonymousLooking at the pictures online of Golden Living it looked very clean and super nice, however when we walked through the front doors it was like walking through hell. Everything from top to bottom was fifthly, the entire place was dirty. The meals were not great and we had no idea if they had activities or not. There was horrible communication, the staff dressed unprofessionally and there was little to no supervision. It was not a good experience and the community was great misrepresented. It was scary looking to say the least, and we would not recommend.
