Community Reviews
Bickford of Carmel was a wise choice!
reviewed on: 08/26/2016 by AnonymousThe Bickford of Carmel was the best fit for mom! The staff have been patient and wonderful with caring with her needs. They are proactive and call me with any concerns that come up with her care. They offer a variety of activities that mom has been participating in. She is enjoying partaking in the activities. She has been eating well and likes the variety of good meals offered. The community is a very safe and secure community. It is very well kept and always smells nice.
Great, Cozy Home
reviewed on: 08/19/2015 by AnonymousBickford of Carmel is exceptional. The staff is very well trained on dementia and it is reassuring knowing that if my loved one declines, they will not need to leave the facility. Bickford will work with us on the additional care. We enjoy that the building is one level and smaller than more in the area. It is obvious residents receive care and attention a lot quicker this way. They are also pet friendly which my loved one LOVES! I have recommended Bickford and will continue to do so.
Glad I found this pleasant place for my dad
reviewed on: 05/14/2015 by AnonymousI moved my dad to Bickford a month ago. So far I have been very pleased. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I live out of state and had to find an assisted living place in a couple days time after my dad ended up in the hospital. I really like the fact that it is one level and laid out in a square. The other places I looked at, the apartments were on upper floors with elevators. My dad has dementia and I didn't think he could find his way around those places as well. Plus I like the security coded doors. I know dad can not wander out. The rooms are smaller and more expensive than the other places I looked at. The overall environment is very pleasant. The residents seem happy there.
becoming family for my parent
reviewed on: 08/19/2015 by BeccaI walked in and was greeted right away. I really liked that it was like someone coming to my front door. The building is so cozy, you walk right into the living room were I saw many people sitting on the couch and just talking. I wasn't for sure about this concept when I first visited, but I like knowing that mom is not just living in an apartment but using the whole building as her home. I really liked that there were not all these separate activity rooms. My mom will not get lost on where things are happening. Julia does a great job reminding everyone of activities but mom loves getting her exercise, so she is always walking her laps. This building especially lucky to have jackie. Mom my says this is one of her daughters even though she is not, she makes this a home for my mom when I could not continue to care for her at home.
Talked with Rebecca. Build...
reviewed on: 02/26/2014 by AnonymousTalked with Rebecca. Building will not be ready until July or August due to weather. Small community with about 45 residence. Do not use pendant system but said she could get one. No price on pendant. Asked about laundry service for personal items. She said that could be included as an option in the care service level. Not sure how that would work. Rooms are way smaller and more expensive than Magnolia Springs or Sunrise. Would only save me about $500. Rebecca is very nice and easy to talk to. Only has 6 years in the industry. She will be running the facility.
