I love my home here.

If You're Needing a Trustworthy, Helpful, Company to Assist with Your Loved One Amada Would be the Best Choice

We had the nurse only one night, and he did the best he could. The coordinator was fantastic and a great guy. The nurse was very good. [Name removed] assisted with the long term care and how to use this service. This was very helpful to assist me be able to help me navigate this area.

The experience overall has not been bad. However, the individuals who have come to care for my loved one have had excessive use of their phones. And I feel that is not professional or appropriate for this type of care. You can't just be on the phone and take care of an elderly person. I feel phones should not be allowed unless it's a dire emergency. Only one of the caregivers who has been to our home hasn't used her phone the entire time she's been here. The staff in the office have been forthcoming, and I know anytime we've called, they've gotten back to us promptly. They've been friendly and tried to be as accommodating as possible. It seems like they don't have too much control once a caregiver is in the home what's going on there. I don't know how well the caregivers are screened, or what criteria is used. I would understand some phone usage if they have young children, or an older person they care for themselves, as long as they voiced that to us. But otherwise I would prefer they not use their phones. The phone issue aside, I am grateful for the services they provide, that there are people out there who do this type of work, and that my loved one is still cared for when I'm not able to be there.

HarborChase of Riverwalk was really nice. It was brand new, and ended up as our 2nd choice. We were very impressed by them. We just didn't think our loved ones would feel comfortable in such an upscale environment since they're not that upscale of people. What we liked about this and also another HarborChase in the area was that we found there to be much more of a community feel than at other places we had looked. That was important to us, especially during the pandemic.

Perfect fit

We chose Glencroft because of the location it is very convenient for us and also it felt like a more comfortable environment that she would fit in well with. She is in a casida and it is very nice, it has plenty of storage and it is perfect for what she needs. They do provide house keeping every 2 weeks as well. The staff members are exceptional here, very friendly and attentive and as her family members, we have had no complaints. I would recommend them to others who are looking.
