Really Good for Respite

reviewed on: 12/02/2013 by Daughter

It was really good. It was the second time my mom had been there so we're hoping that whenever we do need some respite that she'll be able to go back there. They're very nice there and she seems to be very at home there. They do a lot of activities and the food is good and they really keep an eye on her so we're very happy with them. We're probably thinking of using them again at the end of February. Mom was at another place for respite and this is not quite as big as that place so it's easier for her to get around. They always go get her for anything that's happening anyway but it's not quite as overwhelming for her. We're very happy with Methuen Village.

One to be Considered

reviewed on: 04/21/2020 by Diane Farnell

We had a relationship with Methuen Village before my mother moved in. She did respite stays there when we went on vacation. She got to know them and they got to know her so when she moved in it made the transition much easier. I don't have a lot to compare it to but in looking at other communities I felt they are a good value. They are very accommodating.

All in all, our experience was good

reviewed on: 10/13/2020 by Colleen Pierce

We chose Methuen Village because it was most affordable and the location. It was in between distance for all of the siblings. It was easy to get to for everybody. They did the Mediterranean diet here so it was very healthy, overall the food was pretty good. One thing he really liked was they would bring in entertainment for the residents. he always looked forward to that. My father thinks that they needed more activities geared for men, he was not into gardening or painting or things like that. My sister and I were here 2-3 times a week so we got to know the staff members very well. We had good experiences with them for the most part. They always really tried with my father and were very kind and responsive. I would definitely recommend the facility.

Tour of Methuen Village

reviewed on: 05/19/2021 by anonymous

We toured Methuen Village and it was a nice tour and they answered all of our questions that we had. It is a smaller community, only around 22 residents so I felt more crammed here than at some other places that we saw that were bigger. It did not seem as clean, they charged extra to do laundry, and it was more expensive so we went with another facility.

Very good community, impressive memory care program

reviewed on: 12/17/2013 by Son

This facility was one of my top picks when I was looking for memory care for my father, and they just happened to be the first to have an opening for him. They have a very impressive memory care program, developed by Boston University. When I toured I liked what I saw so I put his name on the waiting list. He seems to be doing very well there so far, and I'm very impressed. They are on the expensive end of the spectrum, but the price you pay applies across all levels of care, it won't go up bit by bit as care needs increase, which makes it a lot easier to budget for. I also appreciate that after the standard entry fee and first months rent there are no additional fees that they hold, such as last months rent, etc.
