Community Reviews
Great Staff!
reviewed on: 12/20/2016 by AnonymousThere are 2 or 3 nurses that I've got to know more than the others, and they are very nice, caring and patient.t My mom can't talk very well because of her stroke and the nurse are always patient and caring with her. The place is always very clean and organized. They have a large variety of activities like game nights and exercise 5 days a week. The guy that leads the activities always makes sure my mother participates, he is very involved. The food is home cooked meals, and the portion sizes are good for her.
Wonderful care and Beautiful Building
reviewed on: 11/11/2013 by DaughterI am very happy with the people there. She is now on hospice, but she is allowed to stay at Hickory and she is using the hospice care that they recommended. We moved her in in August and she just got out of a 3 week stint in the hospital. Even after this, the staff has already bonded with her. They called right away when they noticed that something was wrong. Hickory is a smaller facility, probably only about 50 units. When I first walked it, it reminded me of the atmosphere of embassy suites. There were skylights and an open atria in the front. There is no hospital smell. If my mom would have had to go on Medicaid, she could have stayed in her same room.
Dad loves it
reviewed on: 11/09/2021 by anonymousWe chose Hickory Villa because we had a referral from a friend who had a great experience. Also the location was centrally located for family. The room sizes here are great and perfect for his needs. The staff really watches over him but they give him independence as well which he likes. They are always right on it if we have any questions or concerns. There is a transition period with nursing staff, so there has been a couple of mishaps but I think it is just from them regrouping and I don't see it as a long term problem. I would definitely recommend them.
Bright Common Areas!
reviewed on: 10/14/2016 by AnonymousThe common areas throughout the community were bright. Some of the apartments that i got to see were dark i didn't like the dark atmosphere felt in them. There wasn't any available openings for my loved one so i didn't see everything. The parts that i did get to see where clean and organized. The community offers various meal plans and activities.
Happy and Content Residents
reviewed on: 03/04/2020 by LaurenDuring my visit I had the chance to talk with several residents. They were all happy and contended. When I asked them what they liked the most, the consensus was, "The Food" and "The People". HIckory Villa has a unique Atrium-Style design. All of the 2nd floor apartments look over an interior balcony to the dining room and family room. The community was clean, there were residents engaged in the different common areas. It had a cozy, family feel. When the time is right - they have a one bedroom apartment with a private balcony. I loved that!
