Community Reviews
Definitely 5 out of 5!
reviewed on: 10/05/2017 by AnonymousCountry Place Senior Living of Canton is amazing. Definitely 5 out 5! The staff is really great and attentive. They’re consistently asking for feedback about what they can do to improve not only the morale, but the quality of living. They’re friendly and helpful, and every time I’ve come to visit they’ve been there to do anything my mom needs. This community is so clean and what you see is what you get. The staff at the front of the building is just as nice as the staff at the back of the building and it’s great that there’s so much consistency; I never have to worry about my mom being neglected. There’s a lot of activities to choose from too! They offer things like bible studies every day, card games, bingo, and they’ll even bring in a singer from time to time. They make plans to take everyone out once a week and even if it’s just my mom that’s wanting to go, they’ll still take her. The food is great too. Mom is really picky and doesn’t eat much, but here she’s having 3 meals a day and she loves them. I would absolutely recommend this community to anyone that’s looking for something safe and reliable for their parents.
concerned about the food
reviewed on: 09/11/2015 by AnonymousI am concerned about the food at Country Place Senior Living of Canton. The staff need to have more knowledge about what is healthy. The other day they served ravioli straight out of the can. They don't seem to be making an effort in finding out what interests my dad. Overall the staff do seem to make an effort though. We did tell them my mom was getting too much sugar in her meals and they resolved that issue.
Factual, but Sad Commentary on Elder Treatment
reviewed on: 05/13/2020 by Bev YarbroughMy mother is a resident at Country Place Senior Living of Canton, Mulberry. I should start by complimenting the cleanliness of the facility. They are obviously very concerned with aesthetics & focus their funds / attention to this area. However, the food has been an ongoing problem! They do not hire cooks who know how to cook for the elderly. Residents in their 80's & 90's, who were probably great "home cooking" cooks, want fresh foods like peas, cornbread, fresh vegetables, not to mention a varied menu that offers them choices. There are no provisions for vegetarians, so they are left to an occasional unseasoned vegetable & bread. Our family has brought fresh fruit numerous times in large bowls to be put out for all of the residents. That fruit is sometimes put back in the kitchen where the residents cannot have access. Overall, the meat is tough, vegetables are tastless & recently, portions are very small. Although we have tried to file complaints about the quality of the food, it has gone unheeded! Of greater importance is the manner in which these residents are spoken to . They are shouted at from across the room when not in compliance with mask wearing, without inquiring as to why they are not wearing one. They are told to shut their windows on nice, breezy days, although the Covid virus is not even spread in that manner. Communication is often used that demeans them & makes them feel like children that are to be scolded, instead of the valued & respected senior adults they are! My mother was recently told by an employee, after saying the blessing before breakfast, that " she needed to be praying because of the way she had been acting." It seems that they have forgotten who pays their salary & the love/ respect that these residents deserve, especially in this time of uncertainty . Please consider carefully before you allow your loved one to commit to this facility. As I mentioned earlier, aesthetically attractive, but grossly lacking in competent, caring & loving administration of duties by staff!
