A home away from home
reviewed on: 05/17/2021 by Alyson QShe was here before covid and now is here after so a lot of protocols and things that have changed. In the beginning the communication was a little off but other than that they were very proactive and organized to keep the residents safe while still letting them socialize safely. They are a non profit facility, so if my grandma does run out of money they will keep her here. Their food is really good, they provide a lot of variety and they are chef prepared meals. My grandma loves all the activities, they have things like bingo, wine night, exercise classes, movie nights, etc. Prior to covid they had church and communion. They have their own transportation as well so they take the residents to their appointments and the grocery store when needed, the bus is extremely nice as well. We are very pleased and I would recommend them to others who are looking.

You should definitely check it out, it's certainly worth looking into.
reviewed on: 08/15/2014 by MargaretThey are doing a great job. The staff is very friendly, and it's kept clean. The food would be a four. I picked them because I felt more welcomed by their staff than anywhere else, and the facilities were beautiful, I mean gorgeous! They also provided all the services in house that I needed. They had visiting doctors, and home health, and physical therapy, all of those kinds of services. You should definitely check it out, it's certainly worth looking into.
Move from Brookdate to Ventura Hills has been mixed
reviewed on: 08/28/2019 by AnonymousMy mom has been here for several months and since the change from Brookdale to Ventura Hills there have some aspects that have thankfully remained the same and some that have changed. The wonderful chef and kitchen staff have maintained the same high quality of food which is so helpful in keeping my mom eating well and enjoying her meals. They are all so accommodating, know the residents likes and dislikes, and dietary restrictions - such a blessing! Activities have remained the same and they are adequate for most residents. Medical staff (the assisted part of assisted-living) though seems to have been reduced. We've had to push to get all the assistance we are paying for. They need to hire at least one more person or two per shift as there have been times when I could not locate ANYONE to get the help that was needed.
