Very nice staff. Strangely...

Hermitage is excellent
reviewed on: 10/25/2018 by Patty GarrettMy father moved into the Hermitage in early Sept 2018. We couldn't be more happy. I was looking for a place for my Dad and after talking to Lynette Mitchell I basically stopped my search. She was so lovely and answered all my questions and gave such a great overview of the place. When we saw it, we knew it would be right for my dad. He has had some complications health wise and Hermitage has worked with us every step of the way. The entire staff is incredibly caring and respectful. My Dad has a beautiful apartment and it is quite reasonable without a big buy-in fee. The food is great and the place is very clean. They have tons of activities. They are very careful about who they hire, it is obvious to me. Cheerful, kind, compassionate people everywhere. Patty G.
We are very much satisfied so far.
reviewed on: 04/23/2015 by AnonymousWe are very much satisfied so far. They are doing a pretty good job with the food, I eat there a lot, and so does my family and they enjoy it. It probably is a little more seasoned that most elderly folks like, though.

On the "move in" day we were informed after 6PM that we needed to leave the property because the paperwork was not complete, this after sitting with Hermitage staff from 3-4PM to confirm that all the paperwork was complete. My relative ended up the next day at the Emergency room with a catheter. The Hermitage declines to support catheter management in Assisted Living, but did provide a room in their health Care facility. Next we moved out of the Assisted Living facility and terminated that contract. The Hermitage Health Care unit provides 24/7 care for high and low functional residents, meaning alzheimers and catheter management residents are cared for in the same facility without any separation. This was depressing to my high functioning relative. The overall quality of care was ok, but not great. We often found the urine bag full and in need of emptying, and the staff while friendly, made little attempt to engage with my relative, involve her in activities or proactively address her depression and condition. We moved to another facility after 30 days.
